Director’s Message

Vision International School is an International Schools Services (ISS) developed school located in Al Wakra – a close suburb of Doha, Qatar. Our school opened in September of 2014 and since that time we have been focusing our efforts on creating a high-quality institution for a selective group of parents who demand the best education, facilities, and school community for their sons and daughters. We proudly boast a blend of highly qualified and experienced staff, a plentiful supply of resources and educational learning tools, and a spacious and secure campus that includes a purpose-built facility fully suited and designed to house all learners from Early Years through High School.

Our student body represents more than twenty nationalities from around the globe.  We follow an American international curriculum:  our educational standards are from the USA, as are many of our teachers and most of our teaching resources.  Our curriculum is tailored to the culturally diverse needs of our students, while establishing a strong commitment to lifelong learning and service.  We are passionate about what an international education means for preparing future leaders for these challenging times. At VIS, we strive to create a community of caring, inquisitive, critical thinkers, who in turn will take what they learn and improve the world around them – wherever that may be.

We are focused on hiring the best teachers and administrators at recruiting fairs in the US, Canada, the UK. We have procured superior furniture, books, uniforms and playground equipment from various countries spanning the globe. Our academic program is rigorous. As we develop further we will pursue authorization from the Council of International Schools (CIS) and consider applying for authorization from the International Baccalaureate Organization.  In doing so, VIS will be recognized by most universities from around the world, which will, in turn, provide VIS students unprecedented access to top universities. We encourage all students to take full advantage of the programs we will offer, encourage active parent involvement, and hope that you will join us for the planned activities and celebrations we will host throughout the year.

This website is designed to introduce you to Vision International School, Al Wakra, and to provide you with a window into our learning community which will result in engagement.  Once engaged, we promise to provide an educational program that will exceed your goals as parents and your child’s previous experiences as a learner.  Please do consider Vision International School and the educational adventure that lies in store for your child this year!  Do call us.  Your questions will be answered and you will be welcomed!

-- Mr. Jay Roy, School Director

Mission and Philosophy

VIS – a separate gender, college preparatory school – is committed to preparing students for the 21st century by providing an academic environment in which students learn how to creatively solve problems and to learn independently. In addition, students will learn to express themselves through the fine arts, athletics and a wide range of activities and experiences designed to enrich their lives. We seek to instill a sense of ethics, care and compassion for others through engagement in community service and global citizenship.

Vision International School Objectives

Provide a wide range of experiences and programs that actively engage students and promote their growth intellectually, physically, aesthetically and socially while developing a depth of character that exhibits empathy, a sense of service, moral courage, and humility.

Spark a passion in students to learn and to become intensely immersed in education as its own reward.  This is accomplished by the provision of student-centered learning experiences that are real and relevant to the student, and under the guidance of caring, professional teachers that recognize each child as a unique individual.

Instill global citizenship by celebrating the culture and traditions of Qatar and other countries of the world.  By experiencing the world through the eyes of others, and recognizing our similarities and differences, students become more grounded in their own culture, values, and traditions while gaining a broader understanding and appreciation of human diversity.

Recognize the unique learning needs of each student and provide an appropriately rigorous program for all. Differentiated learning establishes expectations that challenge all students to grow beyond their boundaries under the guidance of a teaching faculty that deeply understands the unique educational needs and capabilities of every child.

Use technology appropriately as a natural extension to enhance learning opportunities.  Students are exposed to and engaged in the use of technology on a regular basis as a means to expand their classroom experience and provide them new opportunities for self-expression and discovery.
