Some 34 employees and laborers from different Almuftah Group divisions have recently completed their first aid training held by Hamad International Training Centre (HITC) under the European Resuscitation Council Guidelines (BLS/AED).

Held in HITC at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), the basic life support and first air course gave attendees theory and practical knowledge on performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques for adult, child, and infant through hands-on training, among others. The training also guided participants on the use of defibrillator machine (AED), administration of basic first aid techniques, and principles of disaster management.

Present during the awarding of certificates were Mr. Rami Yarvas, Head of Human Resources, and Ms. Asitha Jayasuriya, Senior HR Officer for Training and Development.

At the awarding Mr. Rami applauded the employees and laborers, stating “beyond company property and assets, we consider lives as more delicate and needing ample attention. As such, you here today are the frontline for emergency medical situations that might happen in company premises. Indeed you are responsible, and commendable.”

The European Resuscitation Council Guidelines “provide specific instructions on how resuscitation should be practiced and take into account ease of teaching and learning, as well as the science.” The validity of the first aid IDs is two years.
